A. I'm at home but I'm going to school. This is weird!

Learning at home will come with its challenges.
Distractions can be everywhere. How will you keep your day focused and make your learning more productive?

Khan Academy has created some sample schedules of what your day could look like when learning at home.  Review the website and create your own schedule.

Develop your schedule using paper or in a digital format.  Coordinate with your different teachers’ continuing learning schedules.  This schedule may change over time.  Below is a sample design found online.

B. What? People still email?

You may have your own email address with Hotmail or Gmail, but most likely you use text-based messaging. Now that you will be required to use your school issued email address, do you really know how to 'Email'?
Read the Article on Email Etiquette.

Communicating with your teacher, employer or post-secondary institution through email should be professional.
Now that you know some of the important things to consider when crafting an email, let’s practice.
On a piece of paper or digitally, create a sample email to your teacher, that follows good email etiquette.

The email will be asking your teacher for help finding a missing handout for a specific subject.

C. Let me send that to you.  File sharing is easy... maybe too easy.

Office 365 tools like OneDrive, Teams, and OneNote are making collaboration and file sharing easier.  But it is important to remember that just because you can easily upload a file or take a photo and share it, doesn’t mean that you should, at least without thinking about it.  Go to the following link and review some of the features of sharing and collaboration in Office 365.

Either digitally or on a piece of paper create a table that on one side lists the benefits of file sharing using Office 365 and on the other side looks at potential issues arising from sharing content.  Consider your personal data exposure, using school-based storage, educational value and your digital footprint. List at least 5 benefits and 5 issues.

Good start!

Part 1 of your quest is completed.  Head over to Part 2.
